Michał S. Sołtysik

Doctoral student at the University of Warsaw (discipline: art studies), librarian at the Warsaw Philharmonic, educator at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. Graduated with distinction in three fields of study: musicology (specialisation: editing), cultural studies (specialisation: culture management) and philosophy (specialisation: philosophy of culture, religion and politics).

He has won awards in composition competitions, including 1st place in the 1st Renata Gleinert National Composition Competition, a special award in the 6th International Composer’s Competition „Opus ignotum”, 2nd place in the National Composition Competition „Legnica Cantat 2017” and 2nd place in the 4th National Composition Competition for a choral passion piece to a text in Kashubian. He has published two collections of his compositions: „Usque ad finem” for mixed choir (2018) with seven pieces to words by 19th-century Polish poets, and „Kashubian Madonnas” for baritone and piano (2020) with eleven songs to words by Tomasz Fopke.
