Sylwia Makomaska, prof. ucz.<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span class=\"su-dropcap su-dropcap-style-light\" style=\"font-size:1.5em\">G<\/span>raduate in musicology of the Faculty of History, University of Warsaw (2002) and political science (specialisation: journalism) of Collegium Civitas (2003). In 2008 she obtained her doctoral degree in humanities on the basis of a thesis entitled \u201cThe incidence of various types of perfect pitch among young people attending music schools in Poland\u201d, written under the supervision of Prof. dr hab. Andrzej Rakowski. In 2010 she went on a teaching internship at the Centre for International Research on Creativity Learning in Education (CIRCLE) at the Roehampton University in London (tutor: Prof. David J. Hargreaves).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Her research interests are focused on the psychology of music in the broadest sense, particularly taking into account psychoacoustics, cognitive and social psychology of music, as well as interdisciplinary topics concerning the role of music in social communication.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">She took part in research projects relating to the perception of musical pitch in collaboration with the Department of Musical Acoustics, Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. In 2013\u20132018 she was involved in an international project led by Prof. Ken\u2019ichi Miyazaki (Niigata University, Japan)\u00a0relating to comparative research on absolute pitch in European and Asian countries.
