Irena Bie\u0144kowska, associate professor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-73 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/imuz.uw.edu.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/348\/2018\/10\/bienkowska-259x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"190\" height=\"220\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span class=\"su-dropcap su-dropcap-style-light\" style=\"font-size:1.5em\">S<\/span>he completed her studies at the Institute of Musicology, University of Warsaw (1994), with a master\u2019s degree granted on the basis of the thesis \u201cMusical culture at the court of Micha\u0142 Kazimierz Radziwi\u0142\u0142 \u2018Rybe\u0144ka\u2019 (1702\u20131762) in Nesvizh\u201d, written under the supervision of Prof. Miros\u0142aw Perz. In 1994\u20131998 she completed a doctoral programme at the Institute, obtaining a PhD in 1999 on the basis of the thesis \u201cThe music of Giovanni Battista Cocciola\u201d<em>.<\/em> Since 2000 she has worked as assistant professor at the History of Polish Music Unit, Institute of Musicology, University of Warsaw.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Her research interests encompass the history of medieval and Renaissance music, history of Polish music in the sixteenth\u2013eighteenth centuries as well as history of musical patronage on the eastern frontiers of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in the seventeenth\u2013eighteenth centuries.
